We will walk, They will cycle

"New Day – New Hopes"
2019.10.05.

We love to walk and hike in the nature. These trips give us a lot of positive energy. We decided to set up a new challenge for a good cause. On the 5th of October we will wake up early in the dawn for a long walk and watch the sunrise in the nature. We would like to support the Hungarian Rett Syndrome Foundation with this challenge.
Rett-syndrome is a rare disease which affects girls only and causes multiple disabilities. For many years now that we got to know the Foundation, the girls, the parents and staff. As volunteers we participated on their different events and therapeutic summer camps. We experienced a lot of positivity, these events and the intensive therapeutic and recreation camps are really good for the girls and parents as well.
The Foundation’s goal is to buy special bicycles which help to experience the joy of cycling for the girls with Rett-syndrome. The other goal of the Foundation is to collect the cost of the Christmas celebration for this year. Unfortunately we can’t undertake the role of Santa Claus and the naughty elf this year, but we are more than happy to do the walk in the dawn on the 5th of October. Please help us to reach our goal which is to gather 100.000 Hungarian Forint (approx. 300 GBP) for the Hungarian Rett Syndrome Foundation.
Thank you for any amount, we believe in that ‘Many a little makes a mickle.’ We hope that we will reach our goal and the girls can get the special bikes with our support.

Let's give experiences for girls with Rett Syndrome together!

Our organization has been representing the interests of children and young people with Rett Syndrome since 1995. This rare disease in girls is accompanied by severe symptoms resulting in multiple injuries. For nearly 25 years, the Foundation has been supporting the affected families, organizing joint programs, organizing therapeutic summer camps, giving lectures, and helping parents communicate.

In the New Day – New Hopes campaign, we collect special experiences for girls. One is the joy of moving: we want to buy bike(s) that can be used by people with reduced mobility with a helper. Families could borrow a bike for a vacation or try out a piece of their own. Since these bikes are not subsidized aids, their purchase is a significant amount for a family. Therefore, it is good if we can help you make the decision.

Another experience is the Christmas celebration, which has became a tradition a few years ago. Many families from all over the country come to the event. The Foundation offers them a variety of shows and gifts. We would like to celebrate Christmas this year and to close another successful year together. In the campaign, we collect prizes for performers, lunches, photo corners and gift packages.

Injured children are less busy than their healthy counterparts and find it harder to get into different programs. We want to help parents do this, either by hiking with their injured child or by organizing joint holidays for them.

“New Day – New Hopes” is a new community fundraising event the central element of which is a walk starting late at night and finishing at sunrise. The main participants of the morning walk are fundraising Ambassadors who, through their participation in the event, collect funds for a Good Cause of their choosing in their own circle of friends.

The concept and the spirit of the event are built around two thoughts: the dawn after the night, the sunrise, which symbolizes hope and optimism in the future and the common walk that reflects the cooperation between individuals and organizations. All of this without any political overtones, the event is solely focused on the activities of NGOs and on fundraising.

The morning walk will take place on 5. Octobre 2019 (Saturday), its planned route will be from the Széll Kálmán square to the top of the Gellért Hill (about 3.5 km). The planned departure time is 5:00, the sun rises at 6:47, and the program ends with a common breakfast after sunrise.

" There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope."
